As Viewber approaches its second anniversary and 40,000 viewings, there’s one basic premise that I’m surprised more customers don’t shout about more, and advertise on their homepages, namely how they’re now enabling their customers to view any of their properties at any time they want.
To me, the idea that this is now routinely possible by using a click to book service, should be front and centre of any agent’s website and especially as part of any pitch to a potential client. It’s a unique and long overdue customer service commitment that I’d have loved to have as a tool when still in the business – indeed it’s why I founded Viewber.
When at Douglas & Gordon in years gone by we would open up diaries for Saturdays (forget Sundays) but they’d be full by Tues/Weds and anyone ringing after that simply didn’t get a look in.
Perhaps one issue is that if you instruct an agent to sell or rent your property you make the assumption that when anyone asks to see your property they will accommodate that request. The reality, as many will know if they’ve ever tried to see an advertised property at a weekend, especially a Sunday, is that it’s almost impossible. This is not because of lack of will from agents, these days they have less negotiators - they’re expensive - and those that do work, especially in the better agencies, are less inclined to want to work weekends. It’s no coincidence that many of the better-heeled agencies use weekend staff, but these require managing, and why bother when Viewber provides exactly the same service, but only when you need it.
To me, the ability to email your database and tell them, unequivocally, that anyone can view any of their properties at any time (This is not the same as saying they’re open – which as we all know merely means there’s someone in the office answering the phone or taking numbers of people who may wander past) is a quite staggering service offering, need not mention Viewber, and should be trumpeted on your homepage.
How many of those looking to buy or rent would be instructing you based on that service commitment alone? C.40,000 viewings shows it works, so why not join those already making money - even when they’re closed.
