UK holiday lets set to benefit from Brexit

Posted on 11 Jun, 2019

The staycation – holidaying in your home country – has been growing in popularity for some years, especially since we voted to leave the EU. Now prolonged Brexit negotiations are providing a boost to the UK holiday market, with the impact of uncertainty, currency woes and passport issues measured in a new survey.

The results of a poll by emerchantpay revealed 19% of Britons have altered their holiday plans as a result of ongoing Brexit indecision, including 12% who have delayed booking their holiday this year and another 4% who have booked a holiday in the UK instead of abroad, because of political doubt.

With holidaymakers swapping overseas travel for on-the-doorstep breaks, it’s a great time to explore running a holiday let – whether you want to invest in a property and manage it from afar or you’d like to rent out a property you already own.

Viewber makes it possible to manage the high turnover of holiday lets without the need to live near the let – whether you have a fisherman’s cottage in Cornwall but live in London, or are taking a job oversees and want to rent out your city centre pad while you’re away.

We have Viewbers – local, vetted viewing experts – working across the whole of the country, including in the UK’s top holiday hot spots. Each Viewber is experienced in meeting and greeting guests at a property, handing over keys, taking guests on a guided tour of the residence, checking ID and collecting keys at the end of the holiday. What’s more, our Viewbers are local so can give guests invaluable advice about staying in the area – where’s good to eat, the best local beach and the nearest chemist, for example.

As well as a physical presence, Viewber can install key safes at holiday lets for the ultimate hands-off guess access - ideal for ultra-short lets and Airbnb style rentals where the duration of the stay may be as short as 24 hours. We can also provide owners of holiday homes with 360 virtual walkthroughs, promotional photographs, 3D dollhouse views and floor plans to help promote their property across listing websites and social media.
