Crisis: Viewber’s Charity of the Year 2018

Posted on 19 Mar

Viewber knows, and is passionate about, property and relish showing people around wonderful houses they may eventually call home. But we also appreciate that a roof over your head isn’t always a given in life. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that our chosen Charity of the Year for 2018 is Crisis – voted for by 53% of our Viewbers. Viewber will be making a £1 donation to Crisis for every new Viewber we vet and register during 2018. We hope our sum total donation in January 2019 will go a little way to making a big difference to those less fortunate.

Crisis is a worthy charity, given the nature of Viewber. The charity operates throughout the year at 11 Skylight centres to provide housing, employment and education opportunities, and advice to over 10,000 homeless people. One of its biggest initiatives is Crisis at Christmas, when the charity opens its doors to over 4,000 homeless people, offering safety, companionship and comfort to those who would otherwise face Christmas alone or sleeping rough.

Crisis certainly hit a note with our Viewber community, who were all given the chance to cast a vote for one of a shortlist of charities. Director Kate Campbell-Balcombe said of the nomination: “While it’s wonderful helping buyers and tenants during their property search, we are acutely aware that not everyone is in the fortunate situation of owning or renting their own home. This really resonates with our Viewbers and in choosing Crisis, they can help the charity continue to provide housing, education and employment services to over 10,000 people a year across the UK.”

If you are thinking of becoming a Viewber, or know someone who would suit the role, raising money for a worthy cause is an extra incentive. Please get in touch today and don’t forget we will give a £1 donation to Crisis for every new, vetted and registered Viewber we take on during 2018.
