KeyNest opens door to easier out-of-hours viewings

Posted by: Ed Mead on 13 Jun 2018

Viewber has partnered with KeyNest in its ongoing quest to assist estate agents, letting agents, property managers and holiday let hosts. The key management and key holding company is already a HostAssist partner of Airbnb and the incredible success of its service has a natural affinity to our own viewings business.

We know people want to book viewings outside of normal trading hours so Viewber is doing everything possible to allow agents to fulfil this demand - without them having to open their branch at unsocial hours or have staff working at awkward times. Our Viewbers are already facilitating viewings and property visits after 5pm, on Bank Holidays and over weekends, and now agents have a secure, local place to leave keys for pick up and collection when their office isn’t manned.

“Not every estate agent has the resources to open until late seven days a week and that presents a problem for keen viewers who want access to properties at unusual times. To ensure agents never miss an opportunity, Viewber is offers accompanied viewings, with a key holding facility, for those times when they’re not open or even just rushed off their feet, KeyNest has helped us improve that service” says Ed Mead at Viewber.

KeyNest works by partnering with hand-selected local businesses that have long opening hours and central locations. Each shop – usually a newsagent, convenience store or petrol station - is stringently vetted before staff training is given and a Keynest safe installed.

The shopkeeper attaches a specially programmed tracking fob to each set of keys, before placing them in a KeyNest-provided safe. Each set of keys is stored anonymously – even the shop staff don’t know which properties the keys are for- and each fob is identical, so every set remains anonymous at all times.

When the keys need to be released, a one-time collection code is generated at the request of the agent and given to the Viewber undertaking the property visit. Our Viewber simply visits the shop and discloses the code – whether that’s 8pm on a Tuesday, 4pm on a Sunday or in the middle of a Bank Holiday Monday.

Viewber has chosen KeyNest as it is the only key exchange solution approved by host insurance specialist, GuardHog. If you’d like to extend your property access options by partnering with Viewber, please get in touch.
