Property Viewing Agent North Wales

Hi, my name is Gill and I live in the lovely seaside town of Llandudno in North Wales, overlooking Anglesey and the stunning mountains of Snowdonia. The Viewber area I cover takes me all along the North Wales coast as well as into the beautiful Welsh countryside.

My background is in Human Resources, having worked in a wide variety of companies throughout the UK, and spending the last 15 years as an HR Director in the social housing sector in North Wales and Cheshire. That, coupled with having been a buy to let landlord for a few years, has given me a good insight into our local property market.

Having decided a few years ago to step off the corporate ladder to enjoy a greater work life balance in semi-retirement, I now do small amounts of consultancy on a self-employed basis. In my spare time I love walking in the hills, mountains and along the beautiful Welsh coastline. Since Covid restrictions have been lifted, my husband and I have also been able to resume our passion for travelling and have completed over 30 Home Exchanges in many different countries where we swap and live in each other’s homes. It’s been fascinating exploring local communities abroad and meeting so many people and their neighbours from different walks of life.  Many of them continue to remain friends long after we have returned home!

I love being a Viewber, having started in August 2021 and have now completed almost 170 appointments. It’s been a great opportunity to continue working in the property sector, talking to people from all walks of life, supporting both clients and their customers. I have such a wide variety of appointments and I really enjoy the flexibility the work provides. It’s ideal to fit in around my other self-employed work.

Like most Viewbers, I spend most of my time carrying out accompanied viewings and property inspections on behalf of a wide range of people. I also undertake photography and video marketing appointments on a regular basis, as well as being a keyholder.

Living in North Wales there are plenty of converted chapels, and one of my most memorable ones had been very tastefully modernised. Whilst retaining many of the original oak beams and stained-glass windows, the owners had also built a breath-taking glass floor on the landing alongside a beautiful indoor swimming pool and sauna. Views of the local 13th century castle were also available from the first floor. A truly stunning home!

My favourite appointments are auction properties, as they provide so much scope for improvement. It’s really interesting when people share their plans and dreams for these properties; whether they are to buy and sell for a profit, convert to a holiday home, or to open a new business.  One of these was an ex-outdoor education centre set within acres of grounds overlooking the beautiful Welsh countryside. Between them, the viewers had so many ideas for its future use. I just can’t wait to see this beautiful building being brought back to life and full of people again, however it is used!

The main tips I would give to new Viewbers are to check both the appointment and property details in advance, so you are familiar with any special viewing requirements and features.  It’s also helpful to be able to talk through information about any local facilities and amenities, especially for those considering moving to the area from another part of the country. People really seem to appreciate it. Printing out the feedback questions in advance also means it’s easy to capture all the key points for the client when chatting with the viewers at the end of the appointment.

All in all, I love being a Viewber. Roll on my next 170 appointments…!
