Viewber Diaries – Roland, New Forest

“Who are the Viewbers?”

This series follows different Viewbers who are based all across the UK – sharing their experiences of being a Viewber.

Hello, my name is Roland and I live in the heart of the beautiful New Forest. The ‘Viewber’ area I cover is from Poole & Bournemouth in the West over to Southampton in the East.

I have just this month completed 100 appointments for Viewber clients, and I thought it time I contribute to our diary.

My background is a Commercial Property Project Director working for a large UK organisation managing office rationalisation, optimisation, vacation & relocation. Having successfully set up new operational accommodation throughout the UK ahead of BREXIT, I took the opportunity in late 2019 to leave ‘on a high’ and take early retirement.

My wife and I then did a European holiday heading to Venice and returning on the Orient Express – looking back both my exit & the timing of our ‘Grand Tour’ was fortunate given what was about to happen!

Whilst I still do Project Management Consultancy I have ‘Capacity’ and the Viewber model works well for me. It allows me to engage with different people, to support the client & their customers in facilitating property transactions. From photographing for marketing, to supporting auction houses in viewing domestic and commercial property, through to property viewings (both in person & virtual), preparing listing packs and creating floor plans.

Every assignment is different and careful reading of what is asked for is essential. And getting that feedback to the client as soon as possible is so important.

My favourite Viewber assignments are those in support of Registered Social Landlords (RSL’s) in ‘signing up’ their clients into new properties – seeing the pleasure that this gives to people in relocating into their new homes is a great process to be part of.

My first 100 Viewber property appointments have of course included many (dare I say) ‘traditional accompanied viewings’ on behalf of agents – interesting on the asking prices of those property viewings I have helped facilitate over £3.6m pounds worth or sales.

We own property in Edinburgh where we have family, so we are lucky to enjoy the mix of ‘South Coast Forest life ‘& ‘City life in Edinburgh.’ I enjoy driving & again being a Viewber associate gets to me places I have never been previously.

Being a Viewber associate is both interesting & fun and if like me you love property and meeting people then it is good to be part of.

Hopefully not too long before I clock up another 100 appointments and I will update our diary again!
