Our year in numbers: positive picks from 2021

Arguably property is one of the few industries that has worked at a ‘flat out’ rate during 2021, leaving us to look back and say ‘what just happened?’. We are so grateful to have been in a position to support the sector and evolve our own business at the same time.

Viewber firmly believes in finding the ‘good news’ in more challenging times, so we are delighted to share our positives from 2021 with you.

200,000 viewings completed: it will come as no surprise that there was a surge in property viewing requests in 2021. As a result, Viewbers had conducted over 200,000 appointments at the time of writing. Our network was, however, well on its way to signing off on a truly marvellous milestone – 250,000 viewings and property visits done.

22 items of content posted to our YouTube channel: in the last 12 months, we have regularly posted online to our YouTube channel. Some of our most-watched content is the ‘Ed Talks’ podcasts. Ed has covered topics as diverse as the ‘What3Words’ locator app to property careers with TV’s Phil Spencer. Our Viewber Diaries also proved popular in 2021, with real-life insights into life as a Viewber.

1,000 Viewber applications at once: we have always been leaders in the field when it comes to flexible working, therefore we expected interest in our business to grow during 2021. We didn’t, however, imagine that our operational style would prompt 1,000 Viewber applicants in one go! Our growing network will become more important as we move through 2022, helping keep property going in potentially tricky times.

9198 booking submissions in one month: nothing makes the Viewber team happier than record breaking figures and in November 2021, we experienced the highest number of booking submissions in one month. The previous year’s highest bookings were in September 2020 and we took 7184.

1 outstanding eco achievement: in a year where the world focused on the green agenda, we achieved eco excellence by becoming a carbon neutral company, achieved partly through some ambitious tree-planting offsetting activity. Our new status means we can proudly display the Carbon Neutral Organisation logo – an outward sign that Viewber meets the Carbon Footprint StandardTM.

60 Net Promoter Score® seals customer service excellence: in 2021, Viewber achieved a Net Promoter Score® of 60, which put us in the coveted ‘excellent’ group of global companies. A Net Promoter Score® measures customer satisfaction, brand loyalty and predicts business growth, with only 10% of UK brands achieving at least a score of 40.

57 trillion squares boost our new ViewBuddy app: when Viewber launched ViewBuddy – its new personal safety/lone worker app – its natural partner was what3words. With the world divided into 57 trillion squares and given unique three- word codes, our ViewBuddy app allows people to pin-point their ‘buddies’ or colleagues’ exact location at anytime, anywhere. It also lets the user flag up emergencies with a simple reverse PIN.

6 new initiatives launched: the last 12 months saw us take huge strides towards improving the wellbeing and prospects of the Viewber HQ team. Not only did we gain a St John Ambulance-trained Mental Health First Aider in the shape of our CET, Kate Campbell-Balcombe, we became a signatory of the Mindful Employers Charter – an open demonstration of our commitment to better mental health at work.

In 2021, we also pledged to uphold a new Dignity at Work policy; voluntarily signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge; became part of the Tech Talent Charter – a Government-sponsored initiative designed to promote greater diversity and inclusion within the digital sector – and registered as a Disability Confident Employer.

94,000+ NRLA members encouraged to use Viewber: 2021 saw our integrations with industry leaders grow, thanks to a new partnership with the NRLA – the National Residential Landlords’ Association. Ed Mead’s podcast with NRLA CEO, Ben Beadle, explains how the partnership will benefit more than 94,000 landlords.

Viewber will start 2022 in a strong, healthy position and we look forward to announcing more good news in the coming year!
